CHARGING ARRANGEMENTS 1. £100 is payable in addition to the standard Security Deposit (making a total of £300). The cost of internet access will then be deducted from the Security Deposit. A summary of usage will be available on request. 2. The weekly fee of £10 is payable with your balance which is due 6 weeks before your holiday (Option A only) HARDWARE REQUIRED NB Please note that there is no PC at the villa. 1. Laptop - the suggested minimum system requirements are shown below - Intel Pentium (or higher/compatible) running on Windows 98 or higher- 32 MB RAM - 60 MB of free hard disk space 2. Dial up modem - either built in to the laptop or externally via PCMCIA card. We suggest that if you are unsure whether you have an internal modem that you check before your holiday. You can do this by clicking Start, Control Panel, System and then selecting the hardware tab. Click on Device Manager and this will show all the hardware. Look for the word 'Modem' and click on the cross to the left of this. Your modem will be listed here eg Standard 56000 BPs Modem. 3. Modem cable - there is a spare cable at the villa but I cannot guarantee that this will be there so please do not forget to take your own to connect the modem to the telephone socket! There is an appropriate adapter in the villa to connect the end of the modem cable into the telephone socket. If your modem cable has been adapted so that it plugs directly into the telephone socket this is fine as the telephone sockets in Cyprus are the same as in the UK. SOFTWARE REQUIRED 1. Internet Explorer (or alternative browser eg FireFox). A detailed guide (including screenshots) will be sent to you once you have paid your balance showing how to set up a dial-up connection on your laptop. The username and password will also be supplied at the same time. |
