| Q1: Who is villaspaphos.com? |
| A1:
Villaspaphos.com is a website used to market our two privately owned
villas in Paphos, Cyprus. |
| |
| Q2: How do I contact you? |
| A2:
You can contact us according to your preference, either by e-mail or
telephone. Please see our contact
details |
| |
| Q3: I have always been on a package holiday before and am concerned about
making my own travel arrangements. What are the benefits of
booking a villa privately and how do I arrange flights etc? |
| A3:
If you have already stayed in a villa booked as part of a package
holiday, you will know that villa rentals offer more privacy, more comfort, and more freedom than
hotel rooms. When you book a villa direct from the villa owner, the
prices are less than when you book through a travel agent or tour
operator. This is also the same for flights
and
car
hire
and you can get more help with travel arrangements here |
| |
| Q4: How do I book a villa? |
| A4:
There are two ways to book a villa. You can either do
this by completing the online Availability
Enquiry Form or you can call us
on (+44) (0) 1689 835567 to check
availability. Once availability has been confirmed, you can either
make a booking using the online Booking
Form
or we will send a
copy to you in the post. If you want to make a provisional booking
see Q5 below. For full details of the booking process please click
here |
| |
| Q5: Can I make a provisional booking? |
| A5: Yes. You can do this once you have checked availability.
There is no charge for making a provisional booking and we will hold
this for 48 hours. This will enable you to ensure that you can
arrange flights to coincide with your villa booking. |
| |
| Q6: How do I make payments? |
| A6: Payments can be made by bank transfer (either via online banking or
in your bank branch), or by credit or
debit card via PayPal. If you pay by credit or debit card via PayPal you will need to
have a PayPal account already or else sign up for one using the link
provided on the booking form. There is a 3.4% commission charge
levied by PayPal which you will need to add to your payment. We do
accept cheques but please contact us first to make the necessary
arrangements. |
| |
| Q7: When do I have to make payments? |
| A7: The deposit of 20% is payable within one week of your booking being
confirmed and the balance is due 6 weeks before departure. Full
details are available in the Terms
and Conditions |
| |
| Q8: Are the rates quoted per person or for the villa? |
| A8: The rates quoted are for the villa on a weekly basis. The price is
the same whether you are a party of 2 or a party of 8. |
| |
| Q9: Are the rates quoted in Sterling (Great British Pounds) or Cyprus
pounds? |
| A9: The rates quoted are in Sterling (GB Pounds). |
| |
| Q10: On which day of the week do the villa bookings usually begin? |
| A10: Most bookings run from either Wednesday to Wednesday or Sunday to
Sunday as the majority of flights to Paphos are on these days. Other
arrival and departure dates may be agreed upon, subject to availability. |
| |
| Q11: What are the check in and check out
times? |
| A11: Access will
generally be after 3pm to allow for cleaning and you will have to vacate
the villa by 10am on the day of departure. If you would like to
check in earlier or check out later than the times shown here, it may be
possible to do so, but you will need to contact
us
|
| |
| Q12: Is a car required? |
| A12: No. Both villas are within easy
walking distance of local public transport which runs regularly (air
conditioned buses generally every 10 - 15 minutes in high season (April
- October) and less frequently for the remainder of the year. The fare
is about 70 cents for a single adult ticket, whether you go one stop or the length of the route). From Paphos Town you can also
get inter city buses which run regularly at reasonable rates. If you
would like to hire a car to enable you to explore more of Cyprus, you
can find details of car hire companies here.
If you need any help with this, please contact
us |
| |
| Q13: Which side of the road do you drive on in Cyprus? |
| A13: You drive on the left hand side of
the road, as you do in the UK. |
| |
| Q14: Are there any motorways in Cyprus and what language are the road
signs in? |
| A14: There are motorways in Cyprus but the
volume of traffic is considerably less than in the UK. Road signs

| |
| Q15: Can you arrange transfers to and
from the airport? |
| A15: Yes, we
can arrange for you to be collected from the airport and delivered to
your villa (and from your villa to the airport). This is available as a
selectable option on the Booking Form. |
| |
| Q16: Where is the villa located? |
| A16: Within two weeks of the balance being
paid, we will send you an information pack which includes detailed
directions to enable you to drive from the airport to the villa, if you
decide to hire a car.
Included in this information pack will be more details about your
villa as well as many leaflets and maps about local
places of interest and things to do on your holiday. |
| |
| Q17: How and when do I get the keys for
the villa? |
| A17: There are
key safes at both villas and instructions on how to open them will be
sent to you with your information pack once you have paid your balance
(due 6 weeks before your holiday). The code to open the key safe
will be sent by separate email. |
| |
| Q18: What do I do if I have a problem
when I arrive at the villa? |
| A18:
There is a detailed A-Z Guide in both villas to explain where everything
is located and how it works. In addition, we have management
companies in Cyprus who are responsible for maintaining and cleaning the
villas. Their respective contact details will be included on the
information pack sent to you before you arrive at the villa (in case you
have problems opening the door!) and are also included in the A-Z Guide
in the villa. They are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week. At Villa Corallia Dream our management company will
visit you on the first day of your holiday to check if you have any
problems. |
| |
| Q19: Is there a Welcome Pack provided at
the villa? |
| A19: Yes,
there are welcome packs provided at both villas, containing basic items
such as bread, milk, jam, tea, coffee, water etc. There are a
number of 24 hour kiosks in Paphos and details of these, together with
the location of the nearest supermarkets will be provided in your
information pack. |
| |
| Q20: Are towels and linen provided? |
| A20:
Bed linen and bathroom towels
are provided at both
villas. Please bring your own towels for pool/beach use. The villas towels are only for use inside the
property and are not to be used outdoors, on the sun beds, or at the
beach.
|
| |
| Q21: How often is the villa cleaned? |
| A21: Both
villas will be cleaned before you arrive. In addition, Villa
Corallia Dream will be cleaned again after 7 days and towels and linen
will be changed. |
| |
| Q22: Do the villas have satellite TV with
English channels |
| A22: Villa
Corallia Dream has satellite TV. There are a number of English
channels including movies, children's channels and chat shows. Villa Christina
does not have satellite TV but it does however have a DVD player and
Video player both with a number of films. Cyprus TV has a number of English
programmes and films, including the news in English daily (with Greek
subtitles) |
| |
| Q23: Do I need to take an electrical
adapter with me? |
| A23: The
voltage and plugs are the same as in the UK - 240 volts with 3-pin plug sockets. |
| |
| Q24: Is there a telephone or internet
access at either villa? |
| A24: Villa
Corallia Dream has a telephone which is available for your use.
Calls to the UK costs about 5p per minute and the cost will be deducted
from your damages deposit. Internet access is also available at an
additional cost - click here
for more details. Villa Christina does not have a telephone or
internet access. There is a public telephone box near to the villa and details
are in the A-Z Guide, as well as information on where you
can buy telephone cards. There is an internet cafe within walking
distance and details of its location is in the A-Z Guide. |
| |
| Q25: Will my mobile telephone work in
Cyprus? |
| A25: Generally,
most GPRS/GSM network mobile phones will work in Cyprus and reception is
generally good (unless you are in the mountains). We recommend
that you check with your network provider before your holiday. |
| |
| Q26: Will we have any language problems? |
| A26:
No, as the majority of people (if not everyone) in the towns and tourist
areas speak good English. |
| |
| Q27: What is your cancellation policy? Do you recommend travel insurance? |
| A27:
20% deposit is required to hold a reservation and the booking is not
firm until the deposit has been received and the funds cleared.
The balance is due 6 weeks before your arrival date. If you cancel the
booking, no refund is made and so we strongly recommended that you take
out comprehensive travel insurance to cover this. Please see the Terms
and Conditions for more information. |
| |
| Q28: Are Visas Required? |
| A28: Visas are not necessary for EEC passport holders although a full
passport valid for at least 6 months from your date of return is
required. If you do not hold an EEC Passport, or require any further visa
information, we recommend that you check with the Cyprus High Commission
(Tel: 0207 499 8272) before you book your villa. |
| |
| Q29: Are Vaccinations Required? |
| A29: No inoculations or vaccinations are
compulsory for UK residents, but the DHSS does recommend certain health
precautions for travellers - see leaflets SA40 and SA41 for details
(obtainable from your local Dept. of Health office) or ask your doctor.
Should you be taking any form of medication, take adequate supplies with
you and carry them in your hand
luggage only (please refer to latest guidance from your airline before
you travel) |
| |
| Q30: Are there any currency restrictions? |
| A30: There is no limit on how much currency
you can take out of the UK. The currency in Cyprus is Cyprus Pounds. The Cyprus Government allows you to bring in
or take out up to CYP£500 in local currency without declaring this. We
recommend you take most of your spending money in the form of traveller's
cheques (Sterling), although in the major tourist centres the banks
should cash cheques written in conjunction with a Eurocheque card, and
credit cards are widely accepted. You can also withdraw money from cash
machines. |
| |
| Q31: Is Cyprus in the European Union (EU)? |
| A31: The Republic of Cyprus (the southern
part of the island) where Paphos is located is in the EU. The
Northern part of the island is under Turkish occupation and is not
currently part of the EU. |
| |
| Q32: What is PayPal? |
| A32: PayPal is how individuals and
businesses send and receive money online. The benefit for you is
that PayPal allows you to use your credit or debit card securely online,
but there is a fee of 3.4% per transaction charged by PayPal which
unfortunately we have to pass on to you. If you do not currently
have a PayPal account, when you click on the VISA button on the Booking
Form it gives you the option to set one up. As the transaction
limit is £500, if you need to pay more than this you will need to split
the payment into multiple transactions which you need to make on
different days. Please click here if you would like more information about
PayPal. |
| |
| Q33: What are the emergency arrangements
for healthcare? |
| A33:
Medical treatment and assistance is offered free of charge to
international tourists in case of health emergencies at the Accident and
Emergency Department of Government Hospitals. Out-patient and in-patient
treatment is provided against payment of the prescribed fees, except for
EU citizens who should produce an E111 card, issued by their country's health care
authorities. Holiday-makers can also make use of their travel insurance,
which covers medical expenses, provided that this insurance covers the
length of their stay on the island (if in doubt, check with your policy
provider) |
